How to use DAISY Talk

To download books
1 Download books by Web browser app, such as Safari.
Procedures about using Safari is as follows;
Access Sapie(Japan) or Bookshare(USA) and download the text only daisy book.
When finish downloading, the screen changes.
Double tap "DAISY Tal" on the screen if you have.
If no, double tap on "Open following way", and double tap on "Open by DAISY Talk" and launch it.
2 Download books using online storage, such as Dropbox.
Procedures using Dropbox is as follows;
Save text only-DAISY-books in the form of ZIP or self-extracting EXE file on Dropbox.
Launch the Dropbox app, and tap selected files.
Tap on "Share".
Double tap on "Open in ...
Double tap on "Listen by DAISY Talk"
It takes a while to download a book, and short click sound continues while downloading.
When click sounds stop, downloading book completes and then your new book title appears on top of the bookshelf.

Start reading, stop, and setting of speech language
When you double-tap the book title on bookshelf screen, screen changes into reading screen.
Three ways to start, stop reading
1. Double tap "plaly/stop" on the center part of the bottom of the screen.
2. Double tap with two fingers on the screen.
3. Operate play/stop switch of earphone microphone.
As this app is pre-set as an audio play app, it activates while the screen is locked, or another app is used.
Language setting
First, check whether the text language and the language of reading voice are correct.
If not, choose the correct one in 34 different languages.
There is a "setting" at the left of the top of the reading screen, double-tap it, the screen will be switched to the speech settings.
When you double-tap the "language" at the bottom of the items, and it switches to setting of speaking language.
Double tap the item from the language list.
* You can scrawlthe screen by flicking up or down with three fingers.

Double tap on "settings" to change to voice setting screen
Each setting can be arranged by slider operation.
After tapping the slider, flick up/down with one finger, you can change the value by 10% each.
To adjust more finely the value, tap the slider and keep holding it, then move your finger up/down slowly to adjust.

Moving reading location
Moving by pageslider
Pageslider is located above the play/stop on reading screen.
If you tap this pageslider and flick up/down, you can move by at a rate of one-tenth of all the pages.
To make the moving page more finely, tap the page slider, while holding, move your finger up and down slowly.
The moving by the setting of the navigation level
On the pageslider on readings screen, there is a picker view to set the navigation level.
When you tap the picker view, you can check the current navigation level.
When you flick it up/down with one finger, you can set the navigation level by sentence, page, search, bookmarks, and by headings labeled as from level 1 to level 6
"Play/stop" tab is located in the center of lower part of reading location and "next” tab is right to the "play/stop", "previous" is left.
Even during the reading or being in a stop position, you can move in accordance with the setting of navigation level when you double tap this "next" or "previous".
Also, you can move by switch operations of "next track" or "previous track" of earphone microphone.

Set bookmarks
You can place bookmarks on any specific page and jump to any reading location where you set the bookmarks.
"Mark" is middle of the upper part of the reading screen, when you double tap it, the screen changes to "bookmark setting".br>
If bookmark is not set in reading position, "set" appears, if bookmark is already set, "reset" appears. There is also "Reset all marks" in either case.

Word Searching
Words Searching tab provides an area where readers an search for words in the context.
"Find" tab is right side of upper part of reading screen. Double tap on Find tab, the screen will be changed to Finding for Searching word screen.
Put the words and double tap “Find next” (towards to end of the book) or “ Find previous” (towards to beginning of the book).
When you continue searching the same word, set the navigation level to "Find", double tap "Next" or "Previous".

Confirmation of words
On the center of the reading screen, one phrase is displayed. You can stop reading and confirm the reading word.

Procedures at Book list
Delete book list
Double tap on the “Edit” on right top of the book list screen
On the left side of book title, "delete book title" appears. Then double tap it.
On the right side of book title, "delete" appears. Then double tap it.
As it changes to the delete confirmation screen, double tap the OK button.
Sort the books
Double tap the "Edit" in the upper right corner of the bookshelf screen.
"Sort book title" appears to the right of the book title.
To sort the order, double tap it, wait for the sound, then drag it up/down to rearrange.
